The Week in Football Design

This week had some big design drops from major franchises. Here’s the breakdown:

Seattle Sounders new logo

The Seattle Sounders unveiled their new logo this week. More than just a logo, really, rather a total rebrand based off their 50 year history. The new logo features a simplified badge with a minimalist space needle, a callback to their pre-mls 1974 founding year, and reintroduces the color teal. Apart from the logo, the franchise also introduced an updated play on the 94-2002 logo, along with an orca and carnation—both symbols of the club.

Arsenal Women’s Bespoke Away Kit

Arsenal partnered with Adidas and Stella McCartney to produce a limited edition bespoke away kit for Arsenal Women. Featuring pink and blue rather than highlighter yellow of the men’s, this is the first time the women have played in a kit different from the men. The kits are being produced in limited quantities. You can pick yours up here.

Salernitana Tifo Action

Salernitana unveiled this choreographed tifo in their game against Inter Milan. The tifo celebrates the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon.
